Combase Energy Limited was founded by Victor Ovia in 2009 in Lagos Nigeria. After working with CyberSpace Networks, Omatek Computers, Vmobile Nigeria, and Celtel Telecommunications, Nigeria for years as a telecommunication engineer, Victor left to become an entrepreneur and a major market player in the oil industry.
Based on his experience, Victor saw the value and flexibility that petroleum distributors provide to the major oil companies and the markets that the distributors serve. Regional petroleum distributors have the opportunity to build solid relationships with their customers and provide their customers with a full-service petroleum offering.
Combase Energy Limited began its petroleum distributorship with Zenith Bank in 2009 and continued to grow its corporate and retail customer base with the primary focus being on industrial customers. In its early years, Combase Energy was able to achieve solid success with these industrial companies with a reputation for efficient service delivery. Combase Energy continued to be a leader in petroleum distribution and later included petroleum importation in its chains of business. By moving to the importation of petroleum products, TMC was able to provide its customers with cost savings due to lower handling costs and a reduction in product losses.
Combase Energy Limited continued to grow both organically and was able to enter new markets throughout the different states in Nigeria. In addition to its entry into new markets, TMC’s growth in its pioneer state of Lagos drove a move from its and extended its offices to different parts of Lagos. The Combase Energy distribution facility has an extensive fleet of oil tankers to support the bulk oil needs as well as having additional acreage to support future expansions. Today, Combase Energy is one of the largest independent petroleum distributors in the country with approximately 16 million gallons distributed on an annual basis. Combase Energy is a multi-branded petroleum importer and distributor with a large customer base that includes; Glencore UK, Peace Marine, Etisalat Telecommunications, Texaco Oil Company, Visafone Communications, Zenith Bank, and CyberSpace Networks, amongst many others.
In addition to its petroleum importation and distribution business, Combase Energy diversified into other petroleum-related businesses. As the company grew, so did the need for support services and corporate facilities. In 2011, Combase Energy moved its corporate headquarters from Apapa to Victoria Island, Lagos. Today, Combase Energy is a full-service petroleum products and services company that supports its customers with its philosophy of Total Petroleum Management. Combase Energy has a strong heritage of providing leadership in the petroleum distribution business, and this heritage has provided a solid foundation for Combase Energy to continue providing quality products and services to its customers for many years to come. Combase Energy continues to be chosen by suppliers, customers, and employees for their openness, honesty, and integrity in the petroleum business.

MD/CEO - Victor Ovia
Victor is a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom. He gained a lot of skills and expertise and experiences from working in various management capacities in several organizations such as CyberSpace Networks, Omatek Computers Limited, Vmobile Nigeria, and Celtel Nigeria where he added substantial value. He attended various seminars and training including: Fundamentals of Business Strategy and Competitive Strategy, Resources Trust Company, Lagos, and Several Lunch and Learn Services on Interview Skills, Presentations, and Communications by PWC International, Cardiff, KPMG, and GoWales.
Soibi Ideriah
Executive Director - Soibi Ideriah
Soibi is a graduate of Rivers State University with a LLB degree in Law after which she proceeded to the Nigerian Law School where she obtained her BL degree. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association. As a resourceful legal practitioner, she has acquired a lot of experience in the oil and gas sector of the Nigerian market. With her expertise in human relations, she has contributed immensely to the growth of the Company and is responsible for the administrative and human resources management department.
